# nebx Text Compare > Free text compare and diff checker: paste two texts and see every added, removed and changed line, word or character side by side or inline, with ignore options and patch export. Runs in your browser. Part of nebx (https://nebx.ai/). About nebx and its other tools: https://nebx.ai/llms.txt - Side-by-side and inline views of every difference - Changes highlighted down to the word or character within a line - Ignore case, whitespace, blank lines and line endings - Counts of added, removed and changed lines, plus a similarity score - Jump between changes and hide unchanged lines - Open files or drop them in, swap sides, and edit while you compare - Copy or download the result as a unified diff (.patch) - Share link that keeps both texts in the URL fragment Q: Is my text uploaded? A: No. The comparison runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. A share link stores both texts in the part of the URL after #, which browsers don't send to servers, but anyone with the link can read them. Q: How does the comparison work? A: Lines are matched with a diff algorithm (the jsdiff library), so moved or edited lines line up where they belong. Lines that changed are then compared word by word or character by character to highlight exactly what's different. Q: Can it ignore whitespace or letter case? A: Yes. Ignore case, ignore whitespace changes, ignore blank lines and ignore line-ending differences (Windows vs Unix) can be combined. The original text is always shown; the options only change what counts as a difference. Q: How large can the texts be? A: Comparisons run in a background worker so the page stays responsive. Very large or very different texts take longer; if a comparison runs past the time limit it is stopped and you're told. Q: Can I export the differences? A: Yes. Copy or download the result as a unified diff (.patch) that git apply and patch understand, or copy either text.
